Getting it running
Install it for the device in front of you
Android TV and phones take it from Google Play. A Firestick needs a sideload through Downloader, which the Firestick guide covers step by step. Samsung and LG stock it in their own stores as IPTV Smarters. On Apple, look for IPTV Smarters Player. Windows and Mac installers come from the developer's site. Same app, six different front doors.
Choose Login with Xtream Codes API
Accept the terms on the first screen and take the Xtream option. Ignore the M3U route unless support has pointed you at it: Xtream pulls the programme guide and the on-demand library by itself, and M3U frequently does not. A great many disappointing first evenings come from taking the wrong branch here.
Enter your details
Any profile name, then the username, password and server address including http:// and the port, exactly as sent on WhatsApp. Tap Add User. Keep those three values somewhere retrievable rather than buried in a chat thread — every additional screen in the house needs them and wants under two minutes.
Turn on the settings that make it feel finished
Two worth changing immediately: Enable EPG on live TV, so the guide appears over a playing channel, and the default startup section, so it opens where you actually watch rather than on a menu. Neither is obvious and both take thirty seconds. Most of what people describe as the app feeling unfinished is simply the defaults.
Let the guide finish loading
It now downloads channels, on-demand titles and programme data. The guide can take several minutes to fill in properly, so do not judge it on the first thirty seconds. Under Settings, EPG, switch on Enable EPG on live TV so it shows while a channel is playing, which is the setting that makes the app feel finished.
Set the player correctly
Settings, then Player settings, then the built-in player with hardware decoding. Where one channel stutters while everything else behaves, change that single channel to software decoding from the player menu rather than altering the global setting. Two minutes here prevents most of what people later report as a problem with the service.
Put it on every screen, then wait
Install it on the television, the bedroom set and a phone. The limit on your plan is how many play at once, not how many are signed in. Then spend a fortnight watching normally with every existing subscription still running — which apps you stop opening is the whole measurement and it is not available sooner.
When something misbehaves
Your account is expired
That is the subscription reaching its end date rather than a fault in the app. Renew on WhatsApp and the identical credentials start working again within minutes. Nothing needs reinstalling, no settings are lost, and your favourites survive intact.
The channel list is empty after a successful login
Pull down to refresh, then sign out and back in. If it is still bare, something in the server address is wrong and the port number is the usual offender. A login that is accepted but returns nothing almost always means the address resolved to something, just not to us.
The app keeps closing on a Firestick
Clear its cache under Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, then reopen. If it persists, remove it and install a current build — an old APK on a newer Fire OS is a common cause and reinstalling costs four minutes.
It works on the phone but not the television
Almost always a typing error on the larger screen, where entering a password with a remote is genuinely unpleasant. Retype both fields by hand. If it still fails, check both devices are on the same network before suspecting the account.
Other players the same login opens
TiViMate
Set up TiViMate on Android TV, Firestick or an Android box with your Xtream login, load the guide, and see what Premium adds. 25,000+ channels.
Smart IPTV (SIPTV)
Set up Smart IPTV on a Samsung or LG television: find the MAC, upload your M3U at siptv.app, activate. Deliberately minimal, 25,000+ channels.
All of them
Every device and player covered, on a single page.
See what it covers on your IPTV Smarters Pro
A trial costs nothing and runs alongside everything you already subscribe to, so you can work out what would genuinely go and what you would keep. Plans open at $15 a month for the full 25,000+ line-up.
What people ask about the IPTV Smarters Pro
Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
The app is free on every platform and always has been. What catches people out is that it arrives empty: it carries no channels of its own and needs a subscription entered as an Xtream login before anything at all appears. Nothing is ever charged inside the app.
What is the IPTV Smarters Pro subscription?
There is no such product. People searching that phrase want a service that works inside the app, which is what this is — an Xtream account carrying the full channel list and on-demand library, entered once and then working on every device you own.
Smarters or TiViMate?
Smarters is free, simpler and runs everywhere. TiViMate has a far better guide plus recording and multi-view for roughly $10 a year, and exists only on Android. If live sport is the point, TiViMate repays that quickly; otherwise Smarters is entirely sufficient and switching later costs a download.
Does it replace my streaming apps?
Not by installing. It sits beside them and changes nothing about how they work. Whether any of them get cancelled is a decision you make after a fortnight of watching, based on which ones you stopped opening — and for most households the answer is some rather than all.
Is it safe to install from outside an app store?
On a Firestick it has to be, because Amazon does not stock it, and sideloading is a supported Fire OS feature rather than a workaround. Take the APK from the developer's own site or the link support sends, and not from a search result, which is where the genuine risk in this lives.
Will my settings survive a reinstall?
Favourites and preferences live on the device, so a clean reinstall loses them and there is no cloud backup. The credentials themselves are unaffected, so rebuilding takes a few minutes rather than a support message. Keeping those three values somewhere retrievable is the single most useful thing you can do here.
Does the same app work if I switch provider later?
Yes, and it is worth knowing. Smarters holds no content of its own, so any Xtream login goes into it, including somebody else's. Nothing you configure here is locked to us. That cuts both ways honestly: it means we have to keep being worth paying for rather than relying on it being awkward to leave, which is a better arrangement for you than the alternative.
Can I use the same account on a phone away from home?
Yes, over mobile data or any wifi, and it counts as one of your simultaneous screens while it plays. Bear in mind that an HD channel is roughly 2 GB an hour, which a capped mobile plan notices quickly. Most players offer a lower-bitrate option, and on a train it is genuinely hard to see the difference.
