Getting it running
Install it on the television
Search the Samsung or LG store for Smart IPTV and install it. Open it once and write down the MAC address it displays, because the next step needs it and you will be on a different device by then. Photograph the screen if writing down a MAC by hand sounds like a way to make a mistake, which it is.
Upload the playlist from a phone or laptop
Go to siptv.app/mylist. Enter that MAC address exactly, colons included, paste your M3U link into the URL field, tick Keep online and press Send. Nothing is entered on the television itself, which is the part that feels wrong and is nonetheless correct.
Restart the app properly
Close Smart IPTV on the television and open it again — fully closed, not merely backed out of. Channels and the guide load from the playlist on that second opening. If you skip the restart you will see an empty app and conclude the upload failed when it did not.
Trim the list before you judge it
This app holds one playlist at a time and shows it plainly, which means a very long list stays very long. Hide the groups you will never open. On a Samsung or LG remote, that ten minutes is the difference between a television you use and one you avoid.
Check how the set copes before paying the activation
You have seven days before the app asks for anything, which is ample time to discover whether this particular television handles a long channel list gracefully. Older Samsung and LG hardware sometimes does not, and that is a property of the set rather than the app. Find out during the free week rather than after paying the developer.
Activate after the trial
You get seven days, then it asks a small one-time activation for that specific television at siptv.app/activation. That payment goes to the app's developer and has nothing to do with your subscription here — we take no part in it and cannot refund it. IPTV Smarters has no equivalent charge if you would rather not.
Keep everything else running meanwhile
Nothing on the television has been replaced or removed. Your existing apps are exactly where they were. Spend the seven days of the app trial watching normally and noticing which of them you stop opening; that happens to line up neatly with the question you are actually trying to answer.
When something misbehaves
The list uploads but the television shows nothing
Wait a minute and restart before assuming failure. Then check the MAC was entered exactly, colons included, since one wrong character sends your list to a television that does not exist. The app also holds only one playlist at a time, so a second upload replaces the first rather than adding to it.
The playlist expired
That message concerns the app's stored copy rather than your subscription, and its wording alarms people every time. Upload the M3U again at siptv.app/mylist against the same MAC. Your account has not changed and nothing needs paying.
The MAC changed after I replaced the television
Then the playlist needs uploading against the new one, and the activation fee is per television rather than per person. That is the trade-off of a MAC-bound app and it is worth knowing before you buy a second set rather than after.
Channels play but the guide is missing
Some M3U links need the guide supplied separately. Ask support for the XMLTV address and add it in the app's settings. On the Xtream login used by other players this is automatic, which is one argument for Smarters on a television that will run it.

What is the difference between Smart IPTV and SSIPTV?
They are separate apps by different developers solving the same problem in nearly the same way, and the similar names cause endless confusion. Smart IPTV uses the MAC upload described above; SSIPTV can take a link directly on the television. Either works here, so use whichever your store actually stocks.
Is the activation fee ours?
No, and it is worth being unambiguous. It goes to the developer of Smart IPTV, who has no connection to us whatsoever. We cannot waive it, refund it or bundle it. If paying a third party irritates you, IPTV Smarters costs nothing on the same television.
Why does it have no login screen?
Because it stores your playlist against the television rather than behind an account, which keeps the application extremely light. On older Samsung and LG hardware that is a genuine engineering trade-off rather than an oversight, and it is why the app remains popular on sets a decade old.
Can I use it on two televisions?
Yes, with a separate upload and a separate activation for each. The subscription itself is unaffected — what limits you is simultaneous playback, not how many sets hold the playlist. Two televisions signed in with one playing is entirely normal on a single-screen plan.
Why choose this over IPTV Smarters?
Weight. On a television from 2016 or 2017, Smart IPTV opens and responds noticeably faster because it does less. If your set is recent and copes well with Smarters, there is no reason to pay the activation. If it stutters and struggles, this is what people move to and it usually resolves it.
Does the playlist update by itself?
With Keep online ticked, yes — the app refreshes from your link rather than holding a frozen copy, which is what that option is for. Leave it unticked and the list gradually drifts out of date as channels move, then somebody concludes the service has deteriorated when the playlist simply has not been refreshed.
What happens if I change my playlist link?
Upload the new one against the same MAC and the app picks it up on its next refresh, or immediately if you restart it. There is no limit on how often you may do this and nothing to pay again — the activation belongs to the television, not to the playlist. This is also how you would move to a filtered, country-specific list if the full one proves unwieldy on older hardware.
Is it still maintained?
It receives updates, though less frequently than the Android players, which is what you would expect from software targeting two television platforms rather than a large app ecosystem. It has been stable for years. Where it does fall behind is new codecs, which occasionally shows up as one channel refusing to play while everything else is fine.
